As someone who has a number of consultants with a good number of different configurations, virtualization is really my only option, especially if I want to protect my main machine from bizarre configurations which might be created by installing custom software. Then there is the IE support issue — IE4Linux is not nearly as good as loading an XP service pack 3 image and then running it directly.
